good start edit

  • This is a good start, but you need a lot of work on your references and on the material quoted etc. You have only one source... I saw some stuff that was borderline WP:COPYVIO. Start searching the online archives of newspapers for more references. Maybe some related Wikipedia articles have already done that work for you (no need to reinvent the wheel). Look at the references on other pages... Ling.Nut 18:25, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, it's definitely a rough draft. I did a quick search for material, but wasn't coming up with much, so if anyone else wants to try, please feel free to add your own stuff. I did borrow some stuff from some other wiki articles (like Lee Teng-hui, but there may be some informative ones that I missed. Thanks for the help so far! --Folic Acid 18:33, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good work so far. Some suggestions:

  1. As Ling.Nut mentioned, more references would be nice. You can format them using citation templates, which make them look nicer. You can also combine identical citations by defining the first instance as <ref name = name> and later instances as <ref name=name/>.
  2. While not strictly necessary, some details about Lee's family and pre-college life in "Early life and education" would be nice.
  3. Examples of recent political involvement would be nice.

All in all, a good start. -Loren 23:54, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree - all would be nice (including the picture). Unfortunately, I had a pretty difficult time finding what I did come up with, so anyone that has better ideas than me - please feel free to share. I'll keep digging though. --Folic Acid 01:49, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Education edit

Jerry, are you sure he got his BA at Fudan University? I'm pretty sure there were several sources (that I can't remember off the top of my head) that said it was the Central Political University. Is Fudan another name for that? --Folic Acid 01:28, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. He attended the university in Shanghai.--Jerry 01:35, 16 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm writing an article on Wang Sheng, and came across this: In 1944, he [Wang] entered the first class of the Central Cadre Academy Research Division, a type of political graduate school. One of his classmates was future Premier Li Huan. Source: Marks, Thomas A., Counterrevolution in China: Wang Sheng and the Kuomintang, Frank Cass (London: 1998), p. 56.
