Listing the author's children might conceivably be germane, even though they're all "civilians" -- but his grandchildren? --Michael K SmithTalk 19:31, 30 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

My understanding of bio guidelines is that non-notable family members are not listed. I took the obit-like family member list out (after checking their names on WP), as well as several dead links and out-of-date info. Eric talk 02:55, 25 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Most bios I see on here list children and grandchildren, as well as a LOT more general information. Who are you to decide what I “germane?” Did you even meet him? Danielle, 14/03/2021 31.38.50.218 (talk) 18:57, 14 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hello Danielle- I never met him, but that doesn't matter here. You may well see other bios that list many family members, but I believe that is discouraged to list names, at least of living people, who are not publicly known figures. I'm not an expert on that topic; you can look through the guidance, or maybe easier, post a question on the talkpage of the Wikipedia bio project: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Biography.
