Talk:Larry H. Miller Dealerships

The entire article reads like marketing copy. As Brendan.anderson93 has indicated he works for the company, there is an obvious conflict of interest here. I checked for copyright violation, but there appears to be none in this case. @Brendan.anderson93: Do not remove these tags again unless consensus on this talk page indicates they are no longer relevant. Thanks. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 16:16, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Brendan.anderson93 here. I do work for the company and am not trying to hide that by any means. I've removed what I believed to be bias phrasing along with a number of links which go out to individual websites. Tell me what else I may need to do in order to make this page completely neutral. Give me every single specific example and the change I would need to make in order to get the notes off the page and I'll get it done. I provided links on your talk page which should help you understand how to better work on this page. Ideally, you shouldn't make any edits at all to it, given your conflict of interest. Rather, it may be good to request others come and make edits. You can make such requests at places like Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests or Wikipedia:Help desk. Right now, I don't have time to completely rewrite this article (which is pretty much what it would take to fix it). I will keep an eye on it, however, in case there are any questions. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 19:08, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
I read your links. They state to not write content in a bias way, as if I'm marketing a product, or writing an advertisement. You and I have a conflict of interest because I'm not seeing any bias or advertisement left on this page. Why in the world would you need to completely rewrite this article?? How could you rewrite it when you know nothing of the company or its historical background, particularly in the US and the state of Utah? Every single detail you see in this article is fact and not opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brendan.anderson93 (talkcontribs) 20:42, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
I don't think you are understanding things. You don't see the bias in the article as written because you are too close the topic of the article (you work for them). Also, I haven't questioned the truthfulness of anything in the article, so please don't imply that I have. As for whether or not I know anything about the company, you can't possibly know what I do or do not know. Regardless of my level of knowledge of the company, I can do research using publicly available articles and content to rewrite it. If the information is not publicly available, then it can't be in the article, regardless of how factual it is. I suggest asking for assistance at the two places I mentioned. They will be able to help you better understand things, and make sure the article is written correctly for an encyclopedia. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 21:06, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Brendan.anderson93: I completely rewrote the article to address the issues I mentioned above. Hopefully, you can see the difference between what was originally in the article and how it is presented now. Please let me know if you have any questions. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 19:19, 21 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
