Will start this soon. --truflip99 (talk) 18:48, 25 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the delay!
  • following an exodus of businesses from the downtown area -- perhaps clarify the community's downtown area? I was thinking Seattle or something as Lake Stevens was established to be a commuter town
    • Fixed by rearranging the sentence.
  • The first homesteads around the lake were established by emigrants -- link Homestead (buildings) perhaps?
  • Machias was founded in 1890 and was followed by Hartford -- The settlement/town/village of Machias...
    • Fixed.
  • which would become a major junction for the Everett and Monte Cristo Railway, which was completed in 1892. -- kinda redundant
    • Fixed.
  • to fish, swim, and water-ski on the lake. -- link Water skiing perhaps?
    • Done.
  • the intersection of two state highways west of the lake. -- can you specify?
    • Done, but I had to be vague because the highways were initially numbered differently.
  • The development of resorts and other industry -- industries?
    • Removed.
  • The area around Frontier Village was developed into a suburban bedroom community -- probably just use commuter town as you had done so in the lead
    • Done.

more soon. --truflip99 (talk) 00:52, 4 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • The city's boundaries are generally defined to the north by State Route 92 -- State Route 92 dup link
    • Removed.
  • Frontier Village opened in 1960 and later expanded as State Route 9 and State Route 204 were improved through the area. -- these are now dup links
    • Removed.
  • The city lies on a plateau between the Snohomish River delta -- Snohomish River dup link
    • Keeping, as it is important as context in this second section and is thus helpful to readers (as laid out in MOS:DL).
  • Lake Stevens has had an installed aeration system since the 1990s... which causes unwanted algae growth. -- aeration and algae dup links
    • Removed.
  • followed by educational and health services (17%), retail (13%), and professional services (11%) -- you deviated from spelling out percent here, and the go back to doing so
    • Fixed.
  • 208,000 square feet (19,300 m2) of retail space, spread across several strip malls. -- strip malls dup link
    • Removed.
  • The city council serves as the legislative body of the city government -- link the earlier instance of city council
    • Removed first instance.
  • The council holds regular meetings twice a month at the Lake Stevens School District administrative headquarters -- LSSD dup link
    • Removed.

More later. --truflip99 (talk) 01:02, 5 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • community parks, neighborhood parks, mini-parks, and other facilities -- what does "other facilities" entail?
    • Mostly special use facilities like the community center, boat launch, and nature reserves. Far too much to add to the sentence.
  • At the northeast end of the lake is North Cove Park, a downtown park that is planned to be developed into an urban gathering space. -- status? by when?
  • The Grimm House is owned by the city government and planned -- is planned
    • Fixed.
  • Travis Bracht, singer -- ref?
    • Added one that is a bit indirect (not mentioning his professional notability).
  • The Lake Stevens School District operates a system of public schools within the city -- LSSD dup link
    • Kept to provide context.
  • including a portion of Marysville. -- brief description of relative location? also Marysville is dup link
    • Fixed.
  • State routes in Infra section dup links
    • Kept to provide context.
  • The intersection of SR 9 and SR 204 -- if going to abbr, do this at first instance and use it thru rest of article
    • Fixed.
  • The agency provides all-day bus service from Lake Stevens to Everett, Granite Falls, Lynnwood, Marysville, and Snohomish. -- some dup links in cities
    • Removed.
  • The city is also bisected by a pair of north–south electrical transmission lines -- transmission lines dup link
    • Kept to provide context.
  • Image and refs look good.

That's it from me. Putting on hold. --truflip99 (talk) 15:57, 6 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
