Oval-shaped features around the periphery of Humboldt Lake edit

There are oval-shaped features around the periphery of the lake. Albedo is high in the middle, and they appear to be surrounded by rings of dark vegetation. It's difficult to tell from the satellite image whether they are "mounds."

Click here to see one of them up close, then zoom out to see others nearby. There are at least 11 of them (possibly as many as 13), mostly on the south and west sides of the lake bed.

The consistent size and orientation of these features suggests that they could be man-made. Can anyone shed some light on what they are? Native American burial mounds, perhaps? 75.163.218.136 (talk) 23:50, 19 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
