Call-Disney marriage contradiction
editAccording to this article, Elias Disney married Flora Call in Kismet, Florida on December 27, 1887. However, according to Elias Disney's article, they married on January 1, 1888, in Acron, Florida. Which is correct? -- azumanga (talk) 03:56, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Lake County Records show that Elias Disney was issued a marriage license on December 27, 1887, but referenced writers indicate the marriage took place on January 1, 1888. This was not uncommon for that period, since it could take a week or more to travel to the county courthouse or for the mail to be delivered. The date of issue could easily have been different from the date of the ceremony. Lake records also indicate that other marriage licenses were issued earlier in 1887, therefore the Disney marriage was not the first marriage in the new county. Referenced authors also indicate that the Disney family (including Elias) lived in Acron, while the Call family lived in Kismet. The two towns were adjacent. They were married at the Call home in Kismet, and then lived in Acron for a short time before moving to Chicago. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.55.177.135 (talk) 21:35, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Annie Oakley's Dog?
editAnnie Oakley is in the Notable people section, without explanation. Searching, I found news articles;

Technically, this confirms her connection to Lake County, albeit a very loose one. The above cited anecdote wasn't worthy of mention in her own wikipedia article. Should the reference, here, be expanded to include detail, or eliminated as too trival? --BoringJim (talk) 21:42, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
