Lago di MezzolaLake Mezzola – How does this article meet WP:COMMONNAME, several large lakes in Italy make use of the name in English; why does this lake and some others remain in Italian?

  • Oppose. A few large Italian lakes do indeed have exonyms in English – Lake Garda, Trasimene, which others? – as do some other large geographic features including one river that I can think of (Tiber) and a handful of major cities. Smaller places are more commonly called by their actual names. Our policy on this is at WP:UE. The Lago di Mezzola is particularly often called by that name in English because it forms part of an important wetland reserve, the Riserva Naturale Pian di Spagna e Lago di Mezzola.
