The formula given for L(r) uses symbols whose meanings cannot be figured out from the article, such as r, m and P(m, r). The only reference given for further information is an article whose content is inaccessible without purchase. If the meanings of the symbols used are not provided, showing the formula is of questionable value to the reader.Huttarl (talk) 20:27, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
It also turns out, upon further reading, that there are several formulae and algorithms for lacunarity (see e.g. Index of Lacunarity, Braichev 1993). So if one particular formula is given prominence in the article, it should probably be specified where that formula comes from, and why it is chosen over others.
