A more encyclopedic tone is required, i.e. the paranthetical notation about Atlantis must be properly written. More edits like this are needed to improve the article. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 18:41, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Performance issues edit

There's an interesting article in The American Music Teacher (Smith, Janet Bass (2006). "Solving performance problems in Debussy's: La Cathedrale Engloutie". American Music Teacher. 56. Cincinnati, Ohio: Music Teachers National Association: 1–7. ISSN 0272-0124. Retrieved 2008-12-04. {{cite journal}}: Unknown parameter |month= ignored (help)) about the form of this work, and performance problems encountered in it (for instance, the changing meters problem identified by Charles Burkhart - a piano roll of Debussy's demonstrates how he meant the changes in meter and the stesso-tempo to be interpreted: "In this performance, Debussy plays bars 7-13 and 22-83 at exactly double the speed of the remainder." However, many pianists - Debussy's pupils excepted - do not do this, his notation not being obvious. The piano roll should probably be followed, Burkhart advises, with reasoning Smith gives in the article.) Schissel | Sound the Note! 03:26, 5 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Musical Impressionism edit

For what it's worth, Debussy hated this term applied to his music. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.161.35.73 (talk) 19:19, 13 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
