Fake image

The image entitled "Spilling the Wine" of anal sex between two men is falsely attributed. The reference, http://www.gay-art-history.org/gay-history/gay-art/turkey-gay-art/sawaqub-al-manaquib-gay/spillingwineA.html, is not reliable and does not properly cite the manuscript from which the image is supposedly taken. The citation is given as "19th Century book Sawaqub al-Manaquib." But this manuscript dates from the 15th or 16th century, and the title, ثواقب المناقب، would never be transliterated into English in this way. A Google image search for this image does not turn up any reputable sources (from museums or libraries.) I think the image should be taken down if no one can provide a better reference. The criminalization of homosexuality

If it became legal in 1858, then it must be so that it was once illegal. Do we know when that happened? Has the Ottoman state criminalized it since its inception in 1299? Did they inherent those laws from even earlier kingdoms in Anatolia, like the Sultanate of Rum? LGBT in the Ottoman Empire

I have taken all the parts about LGBT Ottoman history from this article and added it to a separate page called LGBT in the Ottoman Empire.
