In his (and others) contemporary Latin works his name is given as Curt. (with period) short for original (Roman) name Curtius, just as George would be given as Georgius etc. In works in German, his native tongue, it is always spelled Kurt. See, for example, Neues Journal für die Botanik, Volume 1 By Heinrich Adolph Schrader p. 149 (visible through Google Books). MisterCDE (talk) 06:57, 5 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
