Talk:Kurt Felix (athlete)

Latest comment: 5 years ago by Greg Dyer

There appears to be a mistake in the article listing Kurt Felix's weight as 62 kg (137 lbs). Other sites agree he is 6" tall, but no one else suggests he weighs so little. It would mean he has a body mass index of only 18.5, which would place a 30 year old [his current age] with such a BMI in roughly the 3rd percentile in North America (i.e. 97% of men his age of that height would be heavier).

Yet photos and videos of him show a well-built, strong athlete, with great strength in competitions such as the javelin & shot put & others. It is very unlikely he weighs only 137 lbs.

This error, if it is one, appears to originate with the first mention of his height & weight, which were introduced in the revision of 28 December 2014 (12:07), which appears at: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kurt_Felix_(athlete)&oldid=639936525

They remain unchanged to this day (16 August 2018).

As an example of a differently-stated weight, the site http://takenoticesports.com/clients/athletes_bio.php?Kurt-Felix-24 says (16 August 2018) that he is 6'0" tall and 180 lbs, which makes sense. That would be 81 kg, not 62 kg.

However I have neither the skill nor the wit to edit a page, so I'm just posting this in the Talk section in case I am mixing something up. My apologies if I have done so.Greg Dyer (talk) 21:52, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
