Multiple Issues edit

1) As mentioned, the article lacks any sources. There seems to be sufficient literature on the subject (as would be expected for a traditional japanese art) considering the number of authors mentioned in the "Kumihimo authors" section. Does anyone have some of these books at hand, or know other reliable sources?

2) The "Kumihimo for beginners" section is clearly a howto. This might be remedied already by changing the person from second to third/passive (which has to be done in any case) and the general style of that section. However, when I try this, I end up using weasel words and making unverifyable statements. Someone with more insight in editing than me?

3) The "rating system" list needs some explanation, or just rewriting into prose (the list is of no use, as it is). Also, the "Related terms" and "Kumihimo authors" sections would profit from some introduction or explanation, though it's not really necessary. They look a little bit unordered and hard to read (single, unexplained terms followed by multiple-sentence list entries?).

Paraphrased the section on the "rating system", though still no references in it. It's not really useful information without any further explanation. Se'taan (talk) 03:22, 14 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Kongo Gumi link (under "Related terms") leads to an entry about a Japanese construction company, not to any overview of kumihimi types. Not sure how it should best be fixed. Saffran (talk) 16:03, 28 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

"History" edit

The very first thing one should be able to find in "History" is years or eras. Just saying "samurai" is rather pointless. It's a bit like saying: "historical soldier". It can be of any period that had these soldiers or - in this case - samurai. That's a series of periods of about roughly 700 years.

Can someone please give more details about the period the kumihimo first showed up? Thanks! Kennin (talk) 03:44, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
