Orchestral Scores

edit

The 1st edition was published 4 years after the composer's death in 1961 by Breitkopf & Härtel. It was a facsimile of a copyist's manuscript. Revised editions of the full score and parts continue to be published by Breitkopf & Härtel, and are available through Boosey & Hawkes.

Personal Observation: The 1961 First Edition is not definitive and contains extensive errors; it should be avoided as a reference. Having edited Movt. III for private performance from this edition, I can vouch for a high rate of errors such as missing accidentals, dynamics, and performance indications; actual note errors; and many spelling errors and uncertainty of underlay in the lyrics, Finnish handwritten in German script (e.g. score has German "W" for Finnish "V" in many places).
