Plot

Does this article really require a retelling of the entire game, or could we trim this down a little? Will the Great 22:05, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Height

Just something I noticed, it states that Ares is 50-75 feet tall in the game, though the actual depiction in game, while entirely unmeasureably, is titanic. As he destroys Athens tiny little specks of people can be seen at his feet, as small glows of firey arrows shower up at him. He must be somewhere in the realm of thousands of feet tall. Maintenance tags

The maintenance tags I placed on the article have two distinct meanings:

• {{fiction}} is for things like starting his biography with "Kratos grew up and became a commander in the Spartan army." Much of the writing treats the subject as an actual historic figure.
• {{tone}} is for things like "Kratos' methods were insanely brutal and ruthless." This is an encyclopedia article, not a fan site. The information here should keep a professional tone.

An article can make it clear that its subject is fictional while still using unprofessional language. An article can use a very encyclopedic tone while remaining unclear about the subject's fictional nature. Comments From The Guy Editing This Article

Hi; I'm the guy who made all the recent edits.

I got rid of the "insanely", and other things like that, and currently I'm working on the GoW plot section and polishing the article (I'm gonna get rid of the 50-75 feet thing). Any other criticism is both welcomed and expected.

But I ought to say, concerning the fact-v-fiction thing, anybody who reads this article will find out one way or another that, despite his lengthy mythology-style storyline, Kratos is a videogame character (even if they somehow don't figure that out they'd know that Kratos isn't real, since monsters, undead, magic, etc. aren't real). The GoW games are based on mythology, which is meant to parallel history, so I really don't see the problem with this article seeming to read like a profile of an actual historical figure. The story is what it is.

//side note// technically, Kratos was not born of Sparta. In the bonus movie "A secret revealed" it clearly states that after Kratos was born his mother fled her village with Kratos and "swore a new life in Sparta". This is an interesting twist, because technically it makes Kratos not a born Spartan.

The person who is editing this article needs to put that Kratos is around 40 years old in the first game since he was a mortal in the original God of War. I really can't believe how ridiculous this article is. Whoever is writing it, realize that this is an encyclopedia, not a videogame fanfiction magazine. The entire entry needs to be cut by 90%, it reeks of being written by some 13 year-old fan. For example, the entire "Ghost of Sparta" section could be reduced to the clause "Having been tricked by Ares into murdering his own family...." Thats it. You're not writing a play here kid, just get the general facts out. His entire ingame history should not be more than a page. I really hope someone cleans this up, and maybe ties in some trivia about real greek history and mythology, his comparison to the actual Kratos of mythology, etc...

In my opinion, this article on Kratos, needs to be more (much more) condensed. Mentioning the entire story of God of War, is quite lengthy, and unnecessary. Try cutting some "excess fat from the meat", when editing. Also, some more sub-categories would be nice, just to prevent going into long essay-like explanations.

What the article needs

I feel the article only tells us about the character's history rather than things needed for this article to become featured. Here's what I feel we need:

• A bigger opening paragraph (maybe two).
• Information aboot his conception and creation (the Character Graveyard in God of War might help you with that).
• A section describing his personality and physical appearance (use the Uka Uka and Evil Twins articles as reference if you must).
• Some good external links.

Where is the part about him having a brother who grew up in Hades coming from?

this plot has yet to been used,sorry

Katakana? What the heck?

Someone got a bit overzealous in his apparent need to make sure that everything comes back to Japan somehow -- there's no compelling reason whatsoever for Kratos' name to be written in Japanese, as the character was created and developed by Americans. That sort of thing only makes sense at all when it's a matter of writing an article's title in the native language of the noun in question.72.165.152.4 00:15, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

god of war 2 charcters

fruitized?

I checked a few dictionaries and I can't find any definition for "fruitized" or even any references to it. I found one site that mentioned it had something to do with wine, but the context doesn't make sense here. I'd change it to a different word but I have no idea what the word is supposed to mean to give it an alternative.Trinen 16:40, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
