World's fair

edit

A tour guide in this story says Korean and Taiwanese people started settling in Flushing in significant numbers due to the large delegations to the nearby 1964 New York World's Fair and the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, which passed in the second year of the fair. Can anyone confirm that? Beland (talk) 21:14, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Korean Americans in New York CityKoreans in New York City – Korean Americans is a specific category referring to ethnic Koreans who hold American nationality. Instead, I think this article intends to be about ethnic Koreans in New York city, whether they are immigrants or American citizens. Accordingly, this should be renamed DreamLinker (talk) 15:15, 12 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

I agree, I don't think that's a problem at all. Castncoot (talk) 15:52, 12 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Confusing title

edit

The title of this article leads its readers via a Google search to assume it's about Koreans on vacation in New York City and not about Korean Americans demographic group. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.249.227.71 (talk) 20:27, 12 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

I wouldn't worry about that. The article title was just changed today. As time passes (and quickly so), your Google search will show "Koreans in New York City - Wikipedia" prominently. Castncoot (talk) 23:54, 12 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
My apologies for requesting the move. The scope of this article is about ethnic Koreans in New York City, whether immigrants or citizens. I believe many of the first generation Koreans may not have been citizens (so using Korean Americans is not really correct in this context).--DreamLinker (talk) 07:04, 16 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

The title of this article is potentially impacted by the outcome of this Request for comment re: entries about ethnic groups in the United States. Page watchers are invited to participate in the ongoing discussion. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:54, 1 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
