ISasha: good rewrite, but I think the article now needs more structure and sectioning. Also, why did you remove the mention of Zolotaya Roza? It's a major work.

Zolotaya Roza edit

I don't mind at all if Zolotaya Roza is mentioned.

Communist? edit

Inherent in his later writings is the tension and controlled expression that is so sorrowful and indicative of his antipathy to Communism. I think the article should discuss this in a fuller way, including his defense of authors antagonistic to the officially accepted literature. Perhaps I will work on a section and post it here for comment before editing it into the article. Shykee 02:29, 21 June 2006 (UTC)shykeeReply

I'm also interested in his response under Stalin, both as a writer and personally.
And since he was a major Russian writer, aren't there any international reviews/criticisms to include that would convey a broader sense of him and his work ? As of now, it can sound as if he's a purely Soviet creation without peer recognition outside the system. I'd like to know more about what justifies his literary stature.
Thanks ! Cagrl856 (talk) 20:08, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Quote edit

Although it seems that this page is not on many people's watch list, I thought I would present ideas here first just in case. Perhaps the article would be improved by a direct quotation of a paragraph or two from "Story of a Life". I will quote the chosen paragraphs here before adding them to the article when I find the time. Shykee 01:53, 27 June 2006 (UTC)shykeeReply
