The Richard Bacon section

Is that section really needed? Perhaps a small mention elsewhere in the article, maybe a section titled private life could be added. But unless I've missed something major the Richard Bacon relationship is not one of the most significant stages of her life/career to warrant it's own section like that, especially wen most of the information included doesn't really need mentioning is as much depth here as it currently is. I'm not changing it yet as I want to see what other people think first. But I will potentially change it after others have been able to say anything to stop me :) Evil Eye 19:27, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

I've removed the following:

It shouldn't have it's own seperate section but it has a place in there somewhere, both have been quite open about the fact that they were an item and both are quite well known in the media and he did announce it very publicly.--Lord of the Isles 17:43, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

I removed the section on the olympic torch thing cause it wasn't sourced, and WP:BLP is pretty clear on this. Ethnicity

Religion

Even if she was an Atheist it wouldn't belong in the religious field of the infobox anyway, as Atheism is not a religion. If anything it should say none only if she was Atheist. As for the Muslim part, I don't know. --Τασουλα (Almira) (talk) 16:23, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

OK I've done some digging. Turns out, an Anon removed any mention of her Muslim routes and religion here [1], which were all backed up by reliable sources. This was not picked up on...(Wonder why, cough) in Late July an anon made this change [2] without any sources to back it up. So the edits where probably bad-faith, but it doesn't matter about the intention, truth is, the edits where wrong and in violation of BLP guidelines respectively. I'm going to rescue the source from the guardian in which she self-describes as a "Relaxed" Muslim (I've seen it said countless times she could not possible be a Muslim for the way she dresses, which is rubbish) all in all I find these edits are wrong according to guidelines, and frustratingly these edits where in the attention of established users. Sad. Bad edits going unnoticed because they don't imminently appear bad are a reason many articles go into decline. --Τασουλα (Almira) (talk) 17:16, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

An anon editor is again removing the information and references. Although I have reinstated the details, with an additional reference to being from a Bangladeshi Muslim family, ie: stated by Konnie Huq herself, the anon has again removed it, with a comment of being a Cultural Muslim. ...and it was removed again. Personally, on review, I would say it is hardly important to mention if she is Muslim or not. It is clearly not an important-enough part of her identity whatsoever. Can you stop using your own views on what Muslim women must/mustn't wear to be assumed Muslim when making edits on this site! We do not pass judgements on what people choose to wear as some kind of way of deciding what they are or aren't; whether that's religion or anything else. That's entirely your own POV and not what WP accepts for editing policy, when there is at least one link where she has talked about being Muslim. Reverted accordingly!
