The contents of the Konfyt page were merged into Fruit preserves on 14 November 2018 and it now redirects there. For the contribution history and old versions of the merged article please see its history.
I changed "Konfyt is the Dutch word for jam" to "Konfyt is the Afrikaans word for jam" as "konfyt" is certainly Afrikaans, not Dutch.
This article is rather problematic in several ways. Firstly, I believe "konfyt" is the only correct word, not "konfeit". Though they would be pronounced the same in Afrikaans, my Coetzee English-Afrikaans Dictionary lists only the former. Secondly, "konfyt" simply means "jam" in Afrikaans, not any particular type of jam. Booshank21:36, 31 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Whilst konfyt/konfyt may be the word for jam, there is no need to redirect. I don't know whether you have, but I have eaten konfeit. My grandmother used to make it. Dessydes08:30, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
