Deletion of "Technical info" without discussion

Please explain why this contains "technical" information that should be deleted. - M0rphzone (talk) 04:09, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Look at Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook, there is no discussion of firmware updates there. Nor does there need to be; Wikipedia is not a tech review site. Shii (tock) 04:45, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
Nor is Wikipedia censored. Me-123567-Me (talk) 05:03, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
What on earth are you talking about. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information Shii (tock) 05:13, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
I'm saying Wikipedia is not censored. Me-123567-Me (talk) 13:35, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
You do not understand what an encyclopedia article looks like. I will revert you once a day until you complain to someone else. Shii (tock) 13:41, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
  • The article doesn't need a blow-by-blow rundown of every update to the firmware that's ever been pushed out, but a sentence or two about the changes to the software since release might be useful -- and, oh, look, that's what Timotheus Canens just edited the article to include. Me-123567-Me, this wasn't 'censorship' of wikipedia, it was just a minor content dispute. Both you and Shii should consider content re-writes before blindly edit warring. humblefool® 23:57, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
I agree that the firmware content was not really needed for this article, and that both Shii and Me-123567-Me were ridiculous for edit-warring, but I do want to point out that Shii went right over the top with his comments here, which have since been deleted (check the edit history on this talk page). Shii has had himself blocked for his actions (check out his talk page). CüRlyTüRkeyTalkContribs 01:01, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

O.o wups... all I did was revert it first and ask for discussion to prevent information loss... lol sorry. and Shii I understand your wiki ideals (the one from shii.org if that's your site.) but I don't know if this information needs to be completely deleted. It can be edited to be less technical. and FYI this article is NOT the most technical article here on WIkipedia, there are PLENTY like this (that we need to fix). I hope there was no misunderstanding. - M0rphzone (talk) 04:58, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

Original research

Why do you think this article has original research? Me-123567-Me (talk) 12:07, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

I removed the tag as the article seems well cited, and no one can tell me what seems to be original research. Me-123567-Me (talk) 13:52, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Quick note

Just a quick note, I created a new article for the Kobo Vox eReader. The specs have been moved over. Me-123567-Me (talk) 05:21, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for adding this. I renamed the article to Kobo Vox since the way Kobo uses (and has trademarked) the name, "eReader" describes what the Vox is but isn't part of the actual name of the product. White 720 (talk) 05:26, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
It is part of the name, and I have two sources to back it up. [1] [2] Me-123567-Me (talk) 05:34, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
You're also violating WP:COI, since you work for Amazon.com. Me-123567-Me (talk) 05:37, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

OK. I apologize for the COI. I'll leave these articles alone. White 720 (talk) 15:27, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

eBook Formats

I came here to find out which eBook formats the Kobo supports but this does not seem to be mentioned. Surely this is rather important and should be added?109.154.88.235 (talk) 07:44, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Dates

The dates in the article differ from the dates in the Infobox. Eg. "A new model with Wi-Fi capability was launched 15 October 2010." differs from the Infobox date of May 10, 2010 ... which also differs from the date for the original Kobo eReader of 24 Mar 2010.
