Does The Knowledge Network broadcast over-the-air? I find it confusing since various places seem to sudgest that its a cable channel while others sudgest its an ota station and it has a call sign?

Knowledge Network has transmitters in areas of British Columbia that cannot or do not receive cable television. Other than that, it is mostly a local station (Vancouver and/or Burnaby) that operates and brands itself as a cable network (throughout British Columbia regardless of cable and OTA transmission). • • Knowledge Network would have to unofficially broadcast over-the-air in various regions. If no household on private property receives Knowledge Network over-the-air in that region, then the network MUST be placed under "Broadcast television available on cable only" or "Local cable television stations".
  • Knowledge network could also be running just a repeater like CH4330 (Knowledge Network), CH4331 (TSN), CH4332 (Discovery Channel) in Valemount.

Was CKNO ever an official callsign? I've only ever seen it on the former Nelson Media website, and on a single CRTC document from a few years ago. Obviously there's no transmitters with those calls, since the low-power relays have the form CH####. Mjlarochelle 04:51, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, it certainly had the CKNO-TV callsign in the past, since it is the CRTC that assigns callsigns to broadcasting stations in Canada, and it did refer to the Knowledge Network by that callsign. --  Denelson83  08:58, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

• Well, at the first day of the "25 years" celebration, they had one off-air ID in place of a test pattern. Second, they had simply the Knowledge Network icon on black. Third, they switched back to a test pattern. Fourth, they got a makeover and replaced the test pattern with a newer off-air ID that I see today.
• If this is not what you saw, then this would mean that the off-air ID for each region could be different. If what you saw was the same as I did, are you talking about the 1st or 4th one?

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. The current tree logo now appears to be a secondary logo.

There's a new logo without the tree. The spaces between each letter in "NETWORK" are widened to about the same length as "KNOWLEDGE", and there is a divider between the two words. It appears that this new logo is only seen on television, though. Transmitters

Since there are specific lists of transmitters for other over-the-air television channels in BC and Canada, it would be a good idea to reveal where the 102 broadcast transmitters are located.
