Suwon edit

Perhaps the article should mention that the team played in Suwon up until 2007.--Eujin16 (talk) 04:32, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Relationship between the Hyundai Unicorns and the Woori Heroes edit

Are the Heroes and Unicorns the same franchise?
Of course, same players consist of both teams.
However, OFFICIALLY, they are different franchises. The Unicorns are defunct by being fortified its franchise by KBO and the Heroes started from the zero base. No cumulative record of the Unicorns is succeeded by the Heroes. That is what this franchise is different from the case of Blue Dragons/Twins and the Kia Tigers. Twins and Kia Tigers have purchased the franchise directly from their former occupant and paid for them. However, in case of Wyverns and Heroes paid nothing for the franchise to the Raiders and the Unicorns respectively. Therefore, the Twins and the Kia Tigers are the considered as the successors of the Blue Dragons and the Haitai Tigers by the KBO, while the Wyverns and Heroes are not.
This article may have written by a Korean contributor, who does not fully understand the meaning of the word "FRANCHISE". Filling the empty space does not mean being a successor of franchise. More accurate manner of writing an article is required, and the Hyundai Unicorns and the Woori Heroes should be separated.
If there is no objection to my suggestion, I will move the contents with regard to the Hyundai Unicorns to a new article "Hyundai Unicorns". Otherwise, let me debate on this, before I take an action. ----JCM (talk) 23:45, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

They follow the same lineage, and are arguably the same franchise despite the valid point you make about how the ownership was transferred. I'm not suggesting we attempt to rewrite history here, but without some reliable sources in English which allow us to accurately cite exactly how the transfer worked out, it's probably more convenient to keep the data on the same page. If, however, you insist on resplitting the articles, it will be pretty straightforward to find a old revision of the Unicorns page and restore it, then edit as appropriate. I'm an admin, so let me know and I can do all the surgery that requires / is greatly helped by having the extra tools. Deiz talk 00:48, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
How about the KBO's official view? If you go to KBO's homepage, they consider the Unicorns and the Heroes as different teams with no historical connection. Isn't this a valid evidence that they are "OFFICIALLY" unrelated teams? Or should some individual fans' view be ahead of the view of the KBO, which is controlling the Korean Professional League? ----76.170.238.101 (talk) 05:01, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I don't see what the issue here is with regard to the Wikipedia page. Whatever the status of the franchise transfer, there is demonstrably a lineage running through the Heroes, Unicorns, Superstars, Pintos, Dolphins etc. Deiz talk 05:34, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
