Objectivity Disclaimer edit

I have edited the article to have a more neutral point of view and inserted additional references to support potentially disputed claims (such as "one of the fastest growing companies"). Additionally, since this neutrality issue has not been discussed since June and the neutrality issues within the article have been resolved, I have removed the POV tag. Provided references were linked to several statements where citation was desired for. A few optional words that may even possibly be disputed by certain parties were replaced, removed or supported with documentation. Support for the statement "widely recognized" is available largely though the number of scholarly papers written citing products and services lead by Kitware, and therefore, many of the "Additional Readings" may be used as its reference. Having worked with Kitware's products, I realize there is a myriad of publications and derived products that show Kitware-lead projects are indeed recognized worldwide by government and educational institutes, researchers and a variety of other institutions -- thus information stating the company's scale should not be omitted. Luis Ibanez: I have been working for Kitware since 2002. Although I have tried to be objective when contributing to this page, it is of course difficult to guarantee neutrality when working for the same company. Following the Wikipedia notability guidelines, I removed most of the description of the company, and instead inserted references to secondary references. When editing the Kitware page, I have used non-anonymous login to make clear that this information has not been provided in bad faith.

There are some phrases in the lede of this article that should be removed, such as "one of the fastest growing software companies in the country," "advanced custom solutions for a host of complex technical problems," "widely recognized," etc. They are not neutral and should be replaced with specific facts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.187.29.19 (talk) 03:53, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Read like an advert edit

This article reads like an advert. Especially the dominantly large Area of Expertise section and the focus on specific products and services and company performance. Statements like "Kitware uses a tight cycle of development, testing and detailed, timely feedback that facilitates rapid development of high-quality software products." are, for example, wholly irrelevant and un-encyclopedic. I realize this article has been edited by Kitware employee(s) trying to present a NPOV, but there's simply too much that still is in this article.
