Creation of this page

I was surprised that no one had written about this river yet, as it is somewhat interesting, and grows quite large up near Rockford.

I wanted to make sure the talk section was open for this page because this is my first wiki entry, and I want to be able to learn from any mistakes I might have made when creating this page.--Bstripe 19:47, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Lots of good photos - but I feel the "History" section is written too informally. Think about rewriting with a more objective narration.

Wildlife

Is it still true that the Prairie Wolf is no longer found in the area? Anecdotal evidence contradicts this. This is my first ever Wiki post so I dont have the confidence to research or change anything. Likewise the citation link (#10) appears to be broken. Elros223 (talk) 17:34, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

Trivia

I removed what I perceived to be lunacy, that is the trivia that said late at night along the banks Indians could be seen paddling their canoes. Also added fact tag to the so called local legend, which may not even be real. Unless someone can produce a reference for it I am going to remove it.

In general, crazy facts and trivia need to have in line citations, using the <ref> tag. A mcmurray 20:34, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Redundant images?

Two pictures of the South Branch appear to be different slices of a common image, cropped in different ways. However, the great blue heron looks like the same bird in both pictures. The guardians of this article may want to decide which one is the best one, and use it. Bigturtle (talk) 04:06, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Many of the links on this page are now dead. I have fixed a couple and am looking for others. I have searched online (extensively) and cannot find references for the section on early inhabitants. Perhaps someone else has access to hard copy references? Leschnei (talk) 15:07, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
