He authored his first book “Seven”, an autobiography. He does not profess to be an author, nor does he want to be remembered as a writer. In this book he talks about describing his personal highs as well as his lowest moments. He writes about how he became the person and player that he is and shares his experiences. He also writes about how he credits his parents with helping him get to the point of success and how he wished his father, could have seen his signing with Barcelona and how he wanted him to be the first person he called to tell the news of his signing. His father Blagoj, who was his first coach and tragically passed away the in 2012, the night before his Madrid team played for and won the IHF Super Globe Championship. Kiril played in the game to honor his father and his teammates dedicated the win and the trophy to him. According to an interview for the Macedonian Diplomatic Bulletin, Lazarov states that he believes sport is the best way promote the country of Macedonia around the world. He believes that the country’s athletes represent the best of the Macedonia and in the future, more emphasis should be placed on using sports as a way to promote Macedonia to Europe and the World. He credit his parents for instilling good morals and values in him, which he believes are crucial characteristics while using his fame to promote the country of Macedonia aboard. Those qualities include respect for others, integrity, resolve, temperance and the desire to succeed. He believes that through the recent successes of the Macedonian National Handball and Basketball teams, many more people are learning about this new and emerging country. They are showing that a small country with a population of 2 million people, because of their great spirit and audaciousness can beat much larger, richer and more powerful countries. Lazarov counts the resort city of Ohrid, Mavrovo, his hometown of Sveti Nicole, and Bitola as being among his favorite places to visit in Macedonia. He admits that because of his schedule he has not been able to travel and enjoy the country as much as he would like, but will definitely do so when he retires.
