editThe more scholarly term for this is probably "head of the pantheon", etc. AnonMoos (talk) 08:30, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Why is Janus listed as the chief deity of the Latin pantheon? Why is this not Jupiter? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.189.119.11 (talk) 22:18, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- Presumably vandalism; changed it... AnonMoos (talk) 15:33, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
It was not vandalism. Original Latin mithology had Janus as the main god of the pantheon; Only after the Roman's contact with the Greeks Juppiter became the head of the Greek-Roman pantheon; The Latin is all another history Geshtaldt (talk) Geshtaldt (talk) 20:28, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- That's an interesting claim, but it's something which requires discussion and evidence, and perhaps is not too suitable for a simple linked list such as the one in this article... AnonMoos (talk) 01:55, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
Also, Odin is the leader of the Norse Pantheon, not Tyr, and Quetzalcoatl does not under any circumstances rule the Aztec gods. If anybody leads that pantheon, it's Huitzilopochtli. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.93.254.140 (talk) 19:31, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

- I don't think you fully realize what you're asking -- this article is about the head or leader of a pantheon of multiple gods. Adding the Islamic God to the list would imply that Islam is polytheistic... AnonMoos (talk) 17:30, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
- @223.225.172.27 neither Islam nor Christianity are pagan religions with multiple deities Cactus Ronin (talk) 15:40, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
Dravidian religion?
editWhat does the dravidian religion mean here?Even if we consider it a religion, all gods of them are hindu gods. One who wrote this just replaced original names with what they are called locally. Is this a joke? 103.165.22.18 (talk) 18:17, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
