"Greek" salad edit

I don't think that it is accurate to describe the filling as Greek salad, in stead of "Greek salad". It appears to be missing olives. Having said that, it is apparently perpetual silly season, despite a pandemic. Or because of it. Perhaps it is time to consider if reporting on trivia by otherwise reliable media ought to be deprecated as un-encyclopedic. I'm torn between nominating it for deletion and applauding the effort of lovingly documenting the stupidest thing of 2020. Vexations (talk) 20:11, 2 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

This page is absolutely a candidate for deletion. "I came up with a food in a dream and made it and it went viral" is utter inanity. TheNeutroniumAlchemist (talk) 02:07, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

I hesitate to ask, given this... thing's popularity, but why is this notable? If I come up with a ridiculous food in a dream, is that notable too? -Etherjammer (talk) 00:35, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you come up with something similar in a dream, that probably isn’t notable. What makes this notable is the media coverage it has garnered, as well as its artistic influence, which is significant enough to merit a place on Wikipedia. Yitz (talk) 12:13, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
"A topic is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list when it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." "'Presumed' means that significant coverage in reliable sources creates an assumption, not a guarantee, that a subject merits its own article." This warrants discussion, not dismissal. Why is this notable beyond the fact that a prominent Twitter user made it up and a dozen puff pieces were written about it? (Fewer than a dozen, in fact; many of the citations are about other people's dream foods.) Etherjammer (talk) 00:00, 9 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Etherjammer dunno why people have waited this long, but I added a request for deletion. still new to this Wikipedia stuff but I hope I got it right :) wouldn't want more inane viral stuff getting articles StandardUser2 (talk) 05:01, 7 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@StandardUser2: Speedy deletions must fall under one of the criteria for speedy deletion. You can propose the article's deletion if you think it will be noncontroversial, or otherwise can start an Articles for deletion discussion. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 05:40, 7 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Understood, made an AfD instead, thanks for helping! StandardUser2 (talk) 15:22, 7 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
So would it make more sense to fully include this article to list "Works based on dreams"? Gostek581 (talk) 15:12, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

This is not a dessert—it is a MEAL for KINGS edit

Why would it be called the King's Hand if it is a measly dessert? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ComradePingu1917 (talkcontribs) 23:07, 6 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Merge edit

I just attempted to merge this page with Works based on dreams per the AfD decision. However, I didn't notice that King's Hand has previously been added to that page and reverted twice [1][2] by different editors on the grounds that it is not notable enough for inclusion. Actually, I somewhat agree, and if I had seen the AfD at the time I would have voted to delete it rather than merging, but the AfD consensus dictates that it should be merged somewhere. I guess List of internet phenomena could work too. I would do that but I feel like I've already spent too much effort on this silly article. Spicy (talk) 20:11, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
