Some one who knows how to work this wiki thingy needs to update the "personal life" section, and mention that she and Thurston are no longer together. It is noted in his wiki entry, with a citation that could be copied over here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.53.199.71 (talk) 07:06, 7 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

If anyone wants to add the citation for Gordon suggesting Kurt was murdered, the magazine which printed the interview where she states as much is transcribed here: http://www.justiceforkurt.com/updates/ Specifically, the August 2005 update.

bisexual?

edit

Is it true that Kim Gordon is bisexual? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.59.42.4 (talk) 00:23, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Apparently based on what I found on this source here ( http://www.nndb.com/people/316/000087055/ ) Kim is straight. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.238.50.110 (talk) 18:11, 19 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

X Girl

edit

Why no X Girl?

Right. That would be an excellent addition to this article, since it needs to broaden a bit. By all means, feel free to make an entry about it. Cambrant 01:42, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Photo

edit

I replaced the article's photo with a different one, but I'm open for discussion if someone disagrees. I think that the current one is better for the article because Gordon is facing the camera, even though the stage lights make the colors kind of odd. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 13:05, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sonic Youth

edit

This article has very little information about her work with Sonic Youth. My guess is that someone tried to leave out "obvious" information. However, to document Gordon as a person, in my humble opinion, her specific work with Sonic Youth should be covered more. Cambrant 22:13, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

You are right. She became a reference for a lot of musicians, especially womans. Historically, she is surely an important figure in Rock history because of this (that means that the banner on this page saying this is a "Mid-importance" article in the alternative music wikiproject is questionable). Sonic Youth wouldn't have been Sonic Youth if it has been a men-only band. So maybe additions about her feminist engagements would be necessary too. The other thing that you don't mention, and that can makes sense with what I say previously is that she consider herself more as a performer than a musician... Birthplace?

edit

The article states that Gordon was born 1953 in Rochester, NY. The section Early years however states that her family moved to Rochester in 1958. So was she really born in Rochester while her family still lived in Missouri, or what? I tried to google it, but there's a lot of contradicting material online, and I suspect that much of it has been sourced from this article. Some sources even state that she was born in LA. If someone has good & reliable source, say a book or something, could you please verify this. -- Piisamson (talk) 20:07, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Also, there's some serious gaps in the timeline later. She's born in 1953, goes to school, goes to college(s). She'd have started college in 1970. Even if she did the standard go-to-school-and-graduate-thing, she'd have been out by 1974. And then she did nothing until 1981? This does not make sense. Shouldn't these be cited? I'd like to confirm that this is in Silent Hill.

Mainly, it's because I work with Thurston and Kim's nephew and wanted to see if he could ask them about the reference to her. (I know I can't use it for the article or anything, I just think it would be interesting.)Vicious203 (talk) 16:45, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Citation, or don't add it. I mean if you interview them directly I think that would count as long as you could prove it was them. --Mrmoustache14 (talk) 23:39, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Born Kimberly?

edit

I heard rumors that Kim Gordon may have been born Kimberly Althea Gordon. Are these rumors true?

Discography

edit

Section needs to be created. Morganfitzp (talk) 21:41, 4 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

I've created and (partially?) filled in this section. I don't know the syntax for citing pages which end in e.g. (Album) so not all of the links are working, unfortunately! Stratpod (talk) 12:56, 28 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

It fails to mention that among her collaborations, she did a track with Peaches on her Rub album, the song Close Up. It is mentioned on the album page, though. 205.172.134.227 (talk) 22:01, 18 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
