Hi. Let's not forget the Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle. From what I can gather, the Royal Institute/Society has provided conflicting information on the name's pronunciation. In its romanised names directory, it previously gave the spelling "Khwao Sinarin". However, in its pronunciation guide for amphoe names, it states that the name is pronounced เขฺวา-สิน-ริน = khwao-sin-rin. I'd venture a guess that the spelling in the romanisation guide was based on an old or incorrect pronunciation, so the recommended Thai pronunciation should take precedence. --Paul_012 (talk) 07:30, 16 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Locally, the name is pronounced เขฺวา-สิน-นะ-ริน (Khwao Sinnarin) [1][2][3]. Officially, the pronunciation guide on the Royal Society's website is taken from the 16th edition of the book How to Pronounce and Spell, but the 22nd edition of the same book changed the pronunciation back to เขฺวา-สิ-นะ-ริน (Khwao Sinarin). It also gave the pronunciation of the district เขมราฐ as เขม-มะ-ราด (Khemmarat) instead of เข-มะ-ราด (Khemarat) for the first time. --Potapt (talk) 14:30, 19 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the info. If that is the case, the article should probably be renamed back to Khwao Sinarin District. แอนเดอร์สัน, do you have any objections? --Paul_012 (talk) 08:42, 20 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
