Extra letter

It's not actually Khoresht but merely Khoresh... the T at the end is just pronounced in common daily speaking usage. --Shawn 22:25, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Khoresh, not Khoresht

The correct word for Persian stew dishes is "Khoresh" and not "Khoresht". The article claims that Khoresht is the "Tehrani dialect", but this is nonsense. The unetymological -t is added due to the phenomenon known as linguistic hypercorrection and is only seen in WRITTEN language, which is usually the main indication for the aforesaid phenomenon.

The word KHORESH is derrived from Middle Persian KHWARISHN, whith the -ishn regularly becoming -ish in the transition to Modern Persian. There is no meaningful thing as Khoresht with a -t.

Well, 92.225.143.100, you did not fully explain the -t. Who is hypercorrecting? Why are they hypercorrecting? Seeing as there are an equal number of google hits with and without the -t, something important is going on here. Maybe it was Turkish, Armenian or Arabic speakers who added the -t. Maybe it was the British. Or did someone at one time make a mistake and it has taken hold? Are you fluent in Persian? Is there a Persian grammatical rationale for the added -t? Can we get some sort of citation from somewhere? I grew up hearing khoresht with a T in Tehran. Google Translates with the T. I have seen both ways written, but nothing authoritative. 47.139.8.118 (talk) 22:53, 25 November 2017 (UTC)

wrong redirection!
