Misconceptions

edit

Whoever saved the previous edit (or perhaps several edits) presumably pulled together these confoundable terms that seem united more by pronunciation than by spelling; that does not IMO invalidate their plan of handling them on the accompanying WP:Disambiguation page. The shortcomings of the revision i'm starting from seem far from fatal. Likewise, the implicit analogy between a Dab and a collection of Rdrs (tho it invites confusion about these more rigorously defined structures) has not been fatal to contributing via the accompanying Dab page. But i shall neither address the details of the issues i'm alluding to, on this talk page (let alone on the associated Dab page). If anyone is interested in using the recent edits as an object lesson on the underlying issues, they can best regain my attention at the foot of my talk page by starting a new section there.

Public speaking

edit

I got as far as breaking out these three uses of "keynote":

only to find that we treat them all (via WP:Redirects) in the same article. That of course could be the wave of the future, or else the wave of the past.

I also "stole" and at least in part went on to formulate (a sense of ownership of wordings in WP is a formula for unhappiness)

"metaphor for a unifying purpose regarded as justifying coordination among diverse but related matters"

which at the very least may provoke some other thots.

Oh, and without worrying about who gets credit for the theft, it seems likely that wikt:keynote#Noun and parallel concepts in WP:Keynote#See also were "stolen" from WP or Wikt for use in the other, and once again, i haven't inquired about which theft is more recent and thus probably more efficient. (Tho the different missions of dictionaries and 'pedias usually imply adaptation to the last-stealing environment.
