Certification
editCole's debut album as having been certified gold status.
chsf, 22:12, 2006/01/25 (UTC)
Billboard now lists it as having been certified platinum status on the Billboard Hot 200, but not on the list of recent RIAA certifications, and RIAA themselves still list it as a gold album. -- chsf, 21:41, 2006/02/16 (UTC)
Singles/Songs
editWe should start making pages for her hits! If anyone is willing to start on this task, please have a look at the WikiProject: Songs page for inspiration!

Birth year?
editThe German version of this article says she was born in 1983, but this article says she was born in 1984. Which is correct? The editor of the German article gives askmen.com's page on her as a source, which does say she was born in 1983. --Revolución (talk) 21:52, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
- Billboard's biography on her also says that she was born either in 1983 or 1982 because according to them she made "making her major-label debut in 2004 at age 21" (Billboard.com - Biography - Keyshia Cole) -- chsf, 00:21, 2006/01/28
- I'm going to change it for 1983, that seems more accurate than 1984, as she is said to be 21 in 2004. --Revolución (talk) 04:37, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you! -- chsf, 2:43, 2006/01/29 (UTC)

I noticed the changing of Keyshia Cole's birthdates on RC patrol. I did a little research: IMDB gives her birthdate as October 15, 1981, but I found two sources, Askmen.com and GoHastings.com that list her as born in 1983. However, I couldn't verify the date in 1983; the only site I found that gave a specific date was IMDB (which has the apparently wrong year). Mangojuice 20:27, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- Her single was released March 24th 2004, and she was said to be 21, so the date cannot be October 24th 1983, she would have been 20. So she was born between March 25th 1982 and March 24th 1983.
Keyshia Cole's birthday is October 15th. She mentioned it during an interview on Hot97 (97.1, WQHT, A New York based radio station) after the host, Miss Jones, mistakingly thought the two shared the same birthday of October 24th. A podcast of the interview can be downloaded from http://www.hot97.com/podcasts/#missjones. The year was not mentioned.
Rumours
editUnless rumours have had some important effect on an artist's career or other aspects of her life, I do not see the validity in keeping them in the article. -- chsf, 23:45 2006/02/03 (UTC)
- "She stated on her show 'The way it is' that once in her life she had to turn to prostitution to survive. Her real mother has been struggling with drugs her whole life, which put Keyshia and sister, Neffy, at risk." Quote from Citing sources: How to ask for citations: "If it is doubtful and (quite) highly harmful, you may move it to the talk page and ask for a source." -- chsf 16:03, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

editFor the person that keeps putting michelle for keyshia's middle name, do not belive it because it is very inaccuLHJKHKrate and false. as stated on keyshia cole: the way it is season 2, frankie says hy/Shanell P|contribs]]) 05:02, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

DIVERSEMENTALITY, please try discussing issues rather than taking it upon yourself to edit facts that you do not wish to acknowledge or agree with. This isn't your community college. --67.80.185.250 (talk) 14:59, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
- And for yourself, please try to read Wikipedia guidelines and know that social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook are not reliable sources. Unless a third-party reliable publication clearly states her middle name is one or the other, I think her middle name should be removed, as it will continue this ongoing edit war. How is Facebook not valid when it BELONGS to the party in question. Her own verified Twitter account says Keyshia Michelle Cole. So if she says that is her name and she asserts this on her show, why are we still talking about Myeshia? Just because vandalism is long-standing doesn't make it true...... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.9.43.82 (talk) 02:43, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
Letter From A Special Friend
editKeyshia Cole is a one of a kind. Please do not start any rumors about Keyshia Cole. If you do not know nothing about her, let her be then. She has thousands of fans wanting to see her and maybe one day be just like her. She has thousands and thousands of role models and I'm one of them. Thank-you. Her special friend, Latika Rynne Gray
Voice
editIt is said that her highest note is Bb5 and/or C6. If she doesn't use falsetto doesn't that mean she belted it. In her song LOve, thought you had my back this time she belted some amazingly high notes.
Keyshia has a very amazing voice but she couldn't hit a B5 if he life depended on it! Her vocal range: E3 - F5. It was said that she was dating wit Flody Mayweather —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.231.221.60 (talk) 06:41, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

PXDRIVE copyvio assertion
editRockstar915 added a speedy deletion tag to this page, asserting that:
This item is unquestionably a copyright infringement of http://www.pxdrive.com/album/KEYSHIA+COLE_pictures_zlclpic/, and no assertion of permission has been made.
However, it is clear that the text currently in place at that website is, in fact, a copy of this Wikipedia article, rather than the other way around. PXDRIVE is a wiki-like website where users contribute image files and text descriptions; it seems some user there copied the text from this Wikipedia article.
As for the magazine cover shown in the bio box (which, it should be noted, was added back by Rockstar915 himself), that may well be a copyvio suitable for speedy deletion. But the article text is unquestionably in the clear, so I'm removing the speedy deletion candidate tag. --Ryanaxp 23:08, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- My mistake. This is one of many articles that has been vandalized by numerous sockpuppets of Josh Gotti, who is known for adding in copyvio text. I don't care what you do with the image. Rockstar (T/C) 23:52, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Rockstar915, thank you for looking into this and pointing out the possible vandalism. Regarding the magazine image, I mentioned it only because I was confused why you re-added it after tagging the article as copyvio (perhaps to make clear the connection to the PXDRIVE content?). --Ryanaxp 11:32, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- No, I readded the image because it had been removed by an IP which appeared to look like vandalism (changing of the infobox is generally an indicator). Rockstar (T/C) 15:35, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Just Like You
editOk, this has been a while but why was the article deleted? It had sources if I remember at all. There was no reason to get rid of it.
- At the time there were no sources. It was deleted because it was only rumored and Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. If new reliable sources exist, feel free to recreate the article. Also, don't forget to sign your talk posts with "~~~~". Happy editing! Rockstar (T/C) 23:51, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
