This probably ought to go back to simply Kevin Walton. There's no need to disambiguate, and we don't normally use postnominals in article titles. Besides which, in the TImes obit it says he preferred to continue being known as an Albert Medallist, not a George Cross winner. David Underdown (talk) 15:53, 17 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

List of GC recipients

I was not able to find him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_George_Cross_recipients Maybe someone more knowledgable wants to add? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.162.110.168 (talk) 13:19, 5 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

That list includes only those directly awarded the GC, rather than those who received it by translation from another award (the Albert Medal in this case). David Underdown (talk) 21:42, 7 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Mount Walton or Walton Peak

edit

The Times and Telegraph obituaries say Mount Walton was named after Kevin Walton.

Elsewhere, Mount Walton is described as: Mount Walton (72°29′S 160°18′E / 72.483°S 160.300°E / -72.483; 160.300) is a sharp, bare mountain (2,460 m) rising midway between Oona Cliff and Mount Chadwick in the Outback Nunataks. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1959-64. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Fred W. Walton, geomagnetist/seismologist at South Pole Station, 1968.

Walton Peak is described as having been named after Eric W K Walton, who is this Kevin Walton.

What is the truth?
