Article list edit

The recent edit suggesting we should look at the long list of articles was appropriate. I looked them, all links are current and all the information is related to Pina's reporting from Haiti and about Haiti. Ostensibly this was the point.

What I meant was I didn't see why it was encyclopedic to have a list of articles he's written (about) twice the length of the rest of the article. Surely they are not all particularly relevant and we need to be selective: a long list of a lot of stuff he's written without analysis and discussion isn't really what I would expect from an encylopedia. Can we prune the list? (i.e., I didn't mean "these are irrelevant", I meant "although these are relevant in general, there is no reason to list individual articles that do not appear to be of particular interest - if he's a journalist one would expect him to have written articles"). I hope that makes a degree of sense. 128.232.241.211 (talk) 23:43, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Uh, discussion pages are supposed to be for discussing the article. Aranhamo 04:41, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

NPOV edit

The article makes some crazy allegations, such as Pina being a crackhead and/or alcoholic, without providing any sources.

Well, the article is certainly POV now. It reads like a Pina-for-President ad. Aranhamo 04:42, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

The criticism of the POV is some how personal and reflective appears subjective given other examples that are left untouched: John Taylor Gatto and many others we could cite. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.228.96.138 (talk) 22:33, 26 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Political prisoner edit

I know Pina and know he was reported as becoming a political prisoner in Nov 05.[1]. I have not read one report from him since and am concerned. Anyone know anything? CyberAnth 08:37, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Never mind. I found him. Concern lifted. :-) CyberAnth 08:44, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Article & interview lists, Redux edit

I've heard Kevin for years on Flashpoints and I know he does great work. But these lists are FAR too long -- way out of proportion for a Wiki bio article, so they really do need to be cut back to a more appropriate length. Cgingold (talk) 03:25, 23 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I agree. I've simply removed the CV-like article list for now; it seems that the article already contains sufficient summaries of his reporting. -- Khazar (talk) 07:27, 22 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Threnody635 (talk) 00:26, 26 August 2013 (UTC)==Criticism== The section dealing with Kevin Pina's criticism of journalists and by journalists has been deleted and restored several times. Several links were added after the section was deleted because it lacked citation, but the section was deleted again. The most recent version has been amended with a line that lacks context regarding Michael Deibert:Reply

Michael Deibert never denied that while working for Reuters in Haiti he regularly provided money and resources to his informants in Cite Soleil.

This appears to be a response to something that hasn't been mentioned here so it either needs to be explained more with citations or removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wevers2000 (talkcontribs) 19:41, 16 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I don't think either the criticism of Pina or his response to it - which is not linked to - should be included here, add nothing to article. I don't understand why it reads like such a puff piece, though. I've never heard of the guy.--Threnody635 (talk) 01:06, 26 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
