Merger proposal from Kensington Security Slot edit
I propose that Kensington Security Slot be merged into Kensington Computer Products Group. The former does not appear to meet WP:PRODUCT. The Products Group article states that it is best known for this lock. -- Trevj (talk) 13:47, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- I disagree, the article is well written and I do not think that it would make sense to merge it. Also, I think common sense as well as policy needs to be applied. W.D. 18:01, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

- It's more of an interface than a product I believe, like USB. While Kensington may also manufacture the locks, they aren't the only ones AFAIK, so it's more of a specification. --24.213.158.1 (talk) 13:43, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- OK. Looking at Kensington Security Slot Specifications for Hardware, I see what you mean. But where are the independent sources which establish that this interface (which is still a product, even if also licensed to others) is notable in its own right? -- Trevj (talk) 14:24, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

- I would say keep it on its own page. The lock slot is not always associated with the Kensington brand (the slot is commonly referred to as "the lock slot"), and the slot is found on thousands of products made by hundreds of different companies. If this page were merged into the Kensington page, it would take up a significant chunk of that page (more then necessary).-- Anc516 (Talk ▪ Contribs) 20:13, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
