Untitled edit

The original article has been replaced on this page after page move by User:RX-Guru. The article was a new article created on 25 September. There were 28 links which were left broken after the move when the editor made no attempt to discuss the move, nor did he attempt to fix them. His perceived problem was "interfering with a 13 times European Rallycross champion from Sweden". The only linked pages that were non speedway related are Rustam Minnikhanov who is a politician, and FIA European Championships for Rallycross Drivers, a list of drivers. There currently is no article about the rallycross driver.

An IP user has already changed links on the FIA European Championships for Rallycross Drivers page to Kenneth Hansen (rallycross) and I have amended the link on the Rustam Minnikhanov article to the same destination. Hammer1980·talk 17:21, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Although some of his edits regarding the European Rallycross Championship require a lot of clean-up, I agree that a 13-time European Rallycross Championship is more notable than someone who drives in national speedway competitions. Still, I don't see the problem. Just move this one to Kenneth Hansen (speedway) and turn Kenneth Hansen to a disambig page. --Pc13 20:40, 2 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Kenneth Hansen does not need a dismabiguation page for just two articles. There are approx 30 speedway related articles linked to the current page and none regarding rallycross. There is a DAB link on this page already in anticipation of the still non-existent article. If there were several Kenneth Hansen articles on wikipedia then there would be a need for a dismbiguation page. There is no need for any new article regarding rallycross needs to link to Kenneth Hansen, they can all link directly to Kenneth Hansen (rallycross). Hammer1980·talk 22:35, 2 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
The number of similarly named articles is irrelevant to disambiguation. See Bernd Schneider and Rui Águas for two examples. Also, by not turning Kenneth Hansen to a disambiguation, you're implying a 20-year old in his second season of a national championship is more notable than the record holder in overall titles in an international competition recognized by the FIA. Just a tad NPOV-breaking, no? --Pc13 00:40, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Nobody is implying anything at all. NPOV is not even an issue here, a comment in itself that shows that you have failed to establish a valid point in your previous entry. There is no need for a disambiguation page for an article that does not even exist, and there is already a DAB on this article. I really fail to see your point. There is no need for any links from Rally cross articles to even link to directly to Kenneth Hansen as here are none already. If some inadvertently do, then the DAB link will point the user in the right direction. Hammer1980·talk 13:27, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
What valid point? There are two people with the same name, each supposedly notorious in his own field, but unknown to a mainstream audience. Whether there are pages linking to it is irrelevant. If someone creates the rallycross articles, then Kenneth Hansen must be come a disambig page. --Pc13 17:58, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Where does it say that it must to be a disambiguation page. You would like it to be a disambiguation page. As for your reference to Bernd Schneider and Rui Águas, I suggest you read WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Those pages have no relevance to the discussion. I could find a dozen that don't, you could then find two dozen more that do and so on. The DAB link is perfectly adequate when it would destroy so many links to change it. A dismabiguation page for two articles is totally uneccessary. If there had been an existing article when I wrote this one then I would have added a DAB to the existing article, as I have done on many occasions. I would then make sure that all existing and future articles linked to the correct page. See Norman Hunter - I actually created the third article but there were so many links (90+) that the article should be left as it stood and I added the third second DAB link and changed the links (6) to point to the speedway article. As far as I am concerned ther is no need to continue this absolutely pointless debate. Hammer1980·talk 19:14, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
