Kelley School picture edit

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of the wiki's picture. The building is mostly obscured by trees and doesn't even really show the iconic side of Kelley that most people are familiar with. I work for IU and it even took me a few seconds to recognize from which angle this picture was taken. I will try and take some alternate pictures (preferably of the front of the building) and submit them for possible use on the page. Tito151 (talk) 14:03, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

First sentence edit

I have removed "in Bloomington, Indiana", as the school is located in both Indianapolis & Bloomington, and because the next sentence states the number of students on each of the campuses. From the name (Indiana University) it is clear that the campus is located in Indiana. It is also clear from text later in the article that the school was founded in Bloomington 24.166.17.187 21:48, 11 March 2007 (UTC)!!!!Reply

Notable alumni edit

I added some alumni from the Dean Smith's welcome page. http://kelley.iu.edu/about/welcome.html Tito151 (talk) 14:03, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I restored the original Notable alumni. I don't know who put all those names there but most of them were either not true, did not graduate from IU, or did not exist. If you choose to add these again, please do so in a manner that is not misleading or sloppy.Dumaka (talk) 17:03, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

^ Re: Dumaka.

Excuse me, but you deleted a huge portion of the Notable Alumni section without checking outside of Wikipedia before you acted.

I've restored the section and added a link to the Kelley School of Business' alumni page. In the future, remember that just because someone doesn't have an entry on Wikipedia.org, doesn't mean they don't "exist." You also have no proof that these people did/didn't graduate from IU, so it's probably not wise to say such a thing.

I do have proof. As I noted in my edits, I took these names directly from the walls of our school where these individuals' names, corporate positions, graduation dates, and degrees are inscribed.

I have revised the entry to include a link to the notable alumni page on Kelley's own website. Next time you make an edit of that magnitude, please do so in a manner that is not brash and disinterested. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.56.162.187 (talk) 19:48, 5 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Actually if you would have read my comments you would have seen that I did check outside of wiki to verify the alumni. I was searching all over the net and could not find most of them. Anyway, why should every single alumni of notability be mentioned? Only those with the most distinguish should be mentioned. Especially those who are head of companies who do not show them nor their company as having a page on Wiki. This is not an advertisement page for IU. If you want to add 3 or 4 more then that's fine, but adding 20 or 30 seems like a desperate attempt to attract students to IU when we all know the Kelley School of Business doesn't need to partake in such actions being it is a top ranked school. By the way, the way you added those alumni was pretty sloppy. It got to a point where I just reverted the whole thing because it was so messed up. Dumaka (talk) 13:43, 6 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dumaka, take a look at some other schools' pages. Harvard Business School, or Pratt. Stanford has so many notable alumni they switched to dual columns to list them all!

I suggest you go and remove their rather lengthy lists of notable alumni from these pages as well if this is something you feel so strongly about. It seems you are in the wrong, again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.56.131.213 (talk) 01:57, 7 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

You just don't get it do you? Those schools have completely separate articles that name their alumni. Only the most notable are listed on their pages. But since you feel so compelled to name every single alumni possible, I'll leave it like this. For now. But be warned, it will not stay like this for long, especially when I request a block on this so only established editors and edit this page. Enjoy your victory, because it will not last long. By the way, each one of the alumni listed on Harvard Business School all have their own article. There is no reason to add all of Kelley's alumni when most of them have red links to no where. Unless you want to take the initiative and create articles for each of them. Dumaka (talk) 02:28, 7 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Suggestion - You can go to this page List of Indiana University alumni and add all the alumni you want, in fact you can build the page yourself and link it to the Kelley School of Business. That would be a better idea rather then just adding alumni senselessly to this page Dumaka (talk) 13:16, 7 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
