Iranian or Italian

edit

This player is not Iranian, but simply Italian. In an interview with a newspaper, he himself declared not to be Iranian, but instead Roman and a Romanista (AS Roma fan). Here is the link to the interview:[1] . --Angelo 11:48, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

    • It's not the point, he may be proud to be Italian but that doesn't change the fact that both of his parents were born in Iran making them both 100%, he qualifies for an Iranian passport thus he is half Iranian. Imagine if your parents were both born in Afghanistan but you were born in America and hated Afghanistan and said in an interview I'm American not Afghan it doesn't change your heritage, this is all anti-Iranian rubbish which the Italian media has clearly worked on and idiots like you use as a source.--Princeofpersia1 18:46, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • He might be eligible for Iranian citizenship, however he does not have it. So he is just an "Italian of Iranian descent", in fact he is categorized this way. And please avoid personal attacks. --Angelo 11:49, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dead press release

edit

I removed the dead link press release:

  • "SOTTOSCRIZIONE CONTRATTI ECONOMICI PER LE PRESTAZIONI SPORTIVE DEI CALCIATORI ZARINEH E PIT" (PDF) (Press release) (in Italian). Rome: A.S. Roma. 13 July 2007. Retrieved 1 October 2011.

The original press release was only achieved the download page of the pdf, but not the pdf itself. Roma web site had been updated again circa 2012, it retained the press releases in 2007 with new url, however, the web designer intentionally/unintentionally omitted the link of Zarineh and Pit one. The newspaper article covered most of the wiki content that need citation. Matthew_hk tc 12:57, 15 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
