Is there a bot removing all quotes? I'm trying to build an article here, and I'm not sure if it's more about the author than about the book. Can someone tell me what's going on? --Uncle Ed (talk) 20:21, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I added an {{under-construction}} tag to the article.--RandomHumanoid() 20:24, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Quoting his books or reviews from Amazon does not establish notability.RandomHumanoid() 20:25, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Also, an excessive proportion of quotes is unencyclopedic. HrafnTalkStalk 21:07, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks. You seem to know a lot about Wikipedia style, so I'll go along with whatever you say. Please keep guiding me! :-) --Uncle Ed (talk) 21:37, 29 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think newbies like Uncle Ed should be given a little leeway. Since the quotes might be fine in a hopefully much enlarged article, why not leave some in now? He is imho clearly notable, having led three major scientific institutions and been a dean at Yale.John Z (talk) 09:44, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
"...newbies like Uncle Ed...". You're having a laugh, right? KenDenier (talk) 11:35, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
He obviously must be a newbie, as he is asking for guidance from seasoned editors. I can't be bothered to check every newbie's contribution record.John Z (talk) 21:28, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
