Firearm Officer who shot Khalid Masood

edit

"A member of a Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon's armed security detail" "A senior Commons source confirmed that Mr Fallon's protection officers were the ones who shot the attacker. The source confirmed that the authorities were aware of concerns among MPs about the gates being a 'weak point'. They are believed to have been open at the time of the attack because a parliamentary division was taking place and ministers come in by car to vote. Acting Met Commissioner Craig Mackey is also thought to have been about to leave, and witnessed much of the attack. The source indicated that some security issues arising from the incident would need to be dealt with 'urgently'. Senior investigating officer John Crossley said Masood had been challenged by armed police, before being shot and killed by an officer. In total Masood's attack lasted just 82 seconds. Scotland Yard would not confirm the identity of the officer who shot the attacker.

An inquest into Masood's four victims - PC Keith Palmer, 48, American tourist Kurt Cochran, 54, retired window cleaner Leslie Rhodes, 75, and college worker Aysha Frade, 44 - was opened by Dr Wilcox. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.151.204.97 (talk) 19:21, 24 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Birth date

edit

The bottom of this Daily Mail article reads "The chief coroner will sum up the inquest on Wednesday. The day will coincide with what would of been [sic] Mr Palmer's 50th birthday."

As the article is dated October 1, 2018, this would mean that Palmer's birth date was October 3, 1968, making him 49 years of age when he died. Should this be put in the infobox? Mojo0306 (talk) 15:57, 6 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Incident during protest

edit

Do we really need to mention the current news event? It is irrelevant to PC Palmers biography and AFAIK was not a protest specifically directed at the memorial. My opinion is that having it in the article is just giving it unnecessary elevated status. Periglio (talk) 12:15, 15 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

I don't think it should be in this article. As far as we know, the guy didn't target the memorial, so it is not relevant to this article. -- DeFacto (talk). 15:19, 15 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
