local politician edit

Mr Moffit is not a national figure, but a minor local politician. What is a "noted" professional translator? This is POV, written by same author as numerous Lib Dem biographies here! Nor do I believe it is wise that Mr Moffitt should be editing his own biography to improve it. It is Mr Moffitt's sole contribution to Wikipedia. I say DELETE! Not notable. Can we check whether the wikipedia user Keith Moffitt who has edited this entry, is the same as Keith Moffitt the Councils Leader, Keith Moffitt. IP address of the user? Delete. Paxsilvestris 11:43, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't see why council leaders aren't notable. In reality they have a lot more power than MPs. The leadder of Camden Council makes descisions that effect a population of 300,000 people - again, much more than an MP's constituency. Surely those people deserve to know a bit about who runs their borough? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.86.9.247 (talk) 16:32, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

The leader of a London Borough Council is not a "minor local politician" by any stretch of the imagination. In all the numbers - population, expenditure, employees, etc - such a body is a major organisation and the leader of such is therefore clearly notable. --AlisonW 18:42, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
