Paucity of information

edit

Am I the only one to wonder whether the fact that the German article gives far more information on the subject might reflect an aversion to deal with the first nations in parts of the anglosaxon Wikipedia? I would be glad to learn that such impression is perfectly mistaken. --Terminally uncool (talk) 06:47, 16 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

I wouldn't read anything so deep into it; article length on relatively obscure topics can vary a lot if one person happens to get really interested in it. It looks like User:Hans-Jürgen Hübner on the German Wikipedia is such a person. If you also speak German, you can help expand this article with translated text; I'll add a tag to attract attention from other translators. I was actually wondering whether he got wealthy from his discovery, and the German text does answer that. Thanks for pointing it out! -- Beland (talk) 20:01, 27 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Name change

edit

Clearly this historical figure is far better-known by the name 'James/Jim Mason' or 'Skookum Jim' than by 'Keish' and so the title of this page should be changed in accordance with the way biographical Wikipedia pages are generally written. 86.238.245.164 (talk) 11:34, 16 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I respectfully disagree on changing the name back to Skookum Jim, although I do think it should follow Keish in parenthesis. Newcomers to North America have taken so much away from Indigenous peoples over the years, including their names and language. It’s appropriate we give it back to them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ruthiegirl9 (talkcontribs) 14:10, 25 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
