Merge

edit

Please note- this merge is now for all three, Jimbo, Dolph and Kearney, to merge; it was previously two.

  • Oppose - Jimbo, Kearny and Dolph have been recurring characters since the early days of the show, and are notable enough to have their own pages. McJeff 12:50, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Support I've looked at the recurring characters page a lot, and considering people like Lindsey Naegle who have been on the show a lot more than Dolph don't have their own page, I think that it sets a precedent.
  • Support I nominated this article and Dolph (Simpsons) to merge with Jimbo Jones. They're more collectively known than independently known, and they always appear together. Also, their articles aren't rather lengthly. Any thoughts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ohyeahmormons (talkcontribs)
  • Support - WikiProject The Simpsons is curently trying to plan an overall character cleanup... I suggest you bring this to their attention, and join the project while you are there... also, be sure to sign your comments on talk pages by using 4 tildes (~~~~)... have fun, and happy editing... - Adolphus79 01:21, 30 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose Although I may be in favor of merging all 3 of them (Dolph, Kearney, and Jimbo) into one article and renaming it (with their names redirecting to that article. --Ted87 15:47, 31 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - the bullies (Dolph, Jimbo and Kearney) are four clearly different characters. Enough said. Batesy02 20:57, 1 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
    • Care to expand on that? Ohyeahmormons 16:21, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
      • I'll take a shot. Jimbo, especially early in the show, was frequently seen without the other bullies, and developed minor character depth, for example being his respect for Jebediah Springfield, or his home life (fancy house, enjoys soap operas). In later epsiodes, Kearny's age has been a running gag, and he makes more frequent single appearances than the others. Dolph's only real claim for his own page is that the other three - Nelson, Jimbo, Kearny - get theirs. McJeff 00:41, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose They appear on the show enough to have their own page
  • Oppose They are regular characters on the show, so I don't see the need to merge them all. There are plenty of minor characters from many different shows who have their own page. ~Scorpion0422
  • Support If Rod and Todd Flanders are on the same page so why not them?Muchi 15:23, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
    • Rod and Todd rarely seen apart (Lemon of Troy being an exception) and are quite similar characters and do not appear a lot. So it makes sense that those two are put together. But Dolph, Kearney and Jimbo appear in almost every other episode and are quite different from eachother. ~Scorpion0422
  • Oppose per Ted87. Anonymous__Anonymous 14:56, 25 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose by Tenaciousd. Jimbo has starred solo in too many episodes to be merged.
  • Oppose per McJeff. --BradJones1 03:40, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Kearney simpsons.gif

edit

Image:Kearney simpsons.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 15:39, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
