Confused phrasing edit

"A related larger species, Pila's Palila, or Loxioides kikuichi is known exclusively from subfossil remains found on Kauaʻi. It became extinct maybe as late as 1750, maybe much earlier." which became extinct as late as 1750, Pila's palila or the Kauai palila? Totnesmartin (talk) 19:36, 8 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've deleted the "Findings" section; it's very confusing. It refers to the present-day species Loxioides bailleui, rather than Pila's Palila (Loxioides kikuchi), which is ostensibly the focus of this article, and conflates the two species. This confusion may stem partly from the fact that Julian Hume's book on extinct birds talks at some length about L. bailleui in the section on L. kikuchi. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hilokid (talkcontribs) 19:47, 10 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
