Relationship with Peeta?
editIn the infobox we have "fiance" down, but her relationship with Peeta is very complicated. We'll probably have to edit that after Mockingjay comes out. Actually, I'm sure we could have a whole section on that topic. --Glimmer721 (talk) 22:34, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
Yes. I dont see the relationship part on the infobox...Grasch2014 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 00:02, 9 May 2012 (UTC).
Hair Color
editJust a heads-up, because some were changing it: it says in the book that her hair color is black several times (black hair, gray eyes, etc.) I know it looks brown in the picture, but that was just how the cover illustrater drew it, apparently. --Glimmer721 talk 21:03, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
well maybe the hair color in the pic is black, but looks a little brown cuz of the red in it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.211.35.197 (talk) 23:03, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
Strait black hair, long dark braid, olive skin, and grey eyes to be exact — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.211.35.197 (talk) 23:06, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
Ms. or Mrs.?
editIn the infobox, we have Mrs. Everdeen as her mother. But since she is a widow (the unnamed Mr. Everdeen died), wouldn't it be Ms. Everdeen? Just wondering. --Glimmer721 talk 01:20, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- Some widows retain their married names (and titles), so I think Mrs. is okay. Ms. might lead some to think she was a single mother. PrincessofLlyr royal court 01:49, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- "Ms." is marital-status neutral. "Mrs." indicates that she is married. Given her level of devotion to her husband (nearly killing herself and her daughters by neglect due to depression), I think in today's terms she'd most likely keep the "Mrs." -PK9 (talk) 02:41, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
But katniss' s mother is still in love with Katniss's father and love is so strong that Mrs. And Ms. Is always the same. Can never change the love of the Hunger games, it's so strong you risk your life for it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.68.91.213 (talk) 20:47, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
Jen Lawrence
editWe should probably add in a still from the movie of Jennifer Lawrence. --Rainbowroad6w (talk) 01:45, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hear, here. More pictures would be better. -- AstroU (talk) 12:28, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
- Done -- TNKS. The lede has a picture from the movie, and the article ends with a real-life picture of Jennifer Lawrence. Thanks Again, Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 12:32, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
Appearance
editThey do not say what she looks like. There are also several typos, and it seemed someone neglected the epilogue of Mockingjay, where she and Peeta have children. KoolKellyGreen (talk) 01:33, 18 May 2012 (UTC)KoolKellyGreen§
- That is under #Physical appearance. We also don't want WP:NOTPLOT to get too out of hand here. :) CyanGardevoir 22:18, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
Expand the Hunger Games Katniss summary
editThe Hunger Games section of this page isn't complete. For Catching Fire and Mockingjay, it explains Katniss until the end of that book. The Hunger Games section only goes until the Opening Ceremony? LovelyEdit talkedits 22:11, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
Novel Year
editHi, I was reading through the article and noticed that on the topic of the book Catching Fire, it said that the main topic was "Catching Fire (2009 Novel)". I thought that putting the year when the book was published is a good idea, but, the other novels in the trilogy just state the novel name, but not the novel year as well. So, I think it would be a good idea to add the publish date to the rest of the books, The Hunger Games and Mockingjay. Just an idea so if someone will reply (please!) I will willingly add those dates! Thanks, Imabored1 (talk) 22:48, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
- Standard procedure is just to use the title whenever possible, and to disambiguate by date or author when necessary. The article Catching Fire was formerly located at Catching Fire (2009 novel) (which is now a redirect) due to potential confusion with an older novel of the same name. It was soon determined that the Collins novel was the primary topic with the name, so the article was moved to the location it currently occupies. That’s why a link to the old article wound up in this one. It’s just that no one had gotten around to removing it before you happened across it. Evanh2008 (talk|contribs) 23:24, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, ha ha ha, my mistake! I thought that it was just something the author decided to put there! Thanks anyways Evanh! Imabored1 (talk) 23:39, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
The Great Depression?
editI'm reading the first book aloud to a friend of mine over Skype and forgive me if I'm mistaken but I don't remember it mentioning Katniss' dad growing up during the Great Depression. That would imply that humans invented "hovercrafts" (the flying kind, not the sort that skim over sea and sand), and built the Capitol, and fought the First Rebellion of the Dark Days, all before 1935? I think that edit is wrong and should be taken out, yes. --81.5.170.9 (talk) 01:28, 2 March 2014 (UTC)
- The line is discussing the author, whose father grew up then, not Katniss' father. A quick read of that line and you can easily miss the change in who is being discussed.--☾Loriendrew☽ ☏(talk) 02:06, 2 March 2014 (UTC)
Katniss and Peeta's children names are Willow and Rye
editHi Everyone, author Suzanne Collins revealed that names of Katniss and Peeta's children, their daughter named is Willow and their son named is Rye. Found this information on The Hungers Games wikia website (http://thehungergames.wikia.com/wiki/The_Hunger_Games_Wiki). Here are links to sources: http://thehungergames.wikia.com/wiki/Willow_Mellark and http://thehungergames.wikia.com/wiki/Rye_Mellark Should we add this information to Katniss's article. Thanks. Hogwartsfanzone(talk) 18:41PM 13 April (UTC)
- A wikia is not a valid source.--☾Loriendrew☽ ☏(talk) 18:03, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
Fortunately, editors and fans also read the TALK pages. Thanks, AstroU (talk) 12:24, 5 February 2015 (UTC) PS: We have a new granddaughter named Willow.
Story line
editThe story line sections are written as if directed to somebody who is familiar with the story already; not everybody has read the books or seen the movies. The characters need to be introduced, etc. (e.g., who is Effie?). --Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 18:48, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Backstory
editHi guys I would like to know if anyone has any ideas of what Katniss would look like as a child. 2A02:C7F:190B:1600:A5E9:650F:DEFD:7D08 (talk) 21:13, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
Katniss’ and Peeta’s children’s names.
editIt was said by Suzanne Collins that the names of the children were Crimson and Rue. She never mentions it in the book however. The daughter was named Rue after the death in the first book. The sun was named Crimson for unknown reasons. 2601:404:C300:AF70:0:0:0:D270 (talk) 10:07, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
