Talk:Katedralskolan, Lund

Latest comment: 12 years ago by Tartesauxpommes

Since this is not an actual cathedral school anymore and hasn't been so for more than a century, I would suggest treating "Katedralskolan" as a proper noun and move the article to Katedralskolan, Lund. The origin of the name should still be explained in the lead. It should be noted that, as all public secondary schools in Sweden, it was long known as "Högre allmänna läroverket in X", which is the name one will find in a large number of biographies of former pupils. Note that the brief English presentation of the school doesn't translate the name, but calls it "Katedralskolan in Lund". u p p l a n d 12:53, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

The reason it it is named Lund Cathedral School is simply because that is what it was called in "Lund". So I have no objections to renaming it. Henrik 18:59, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello there, I just made some minor changes on the page to make it more readable and up to date. I removed some information that seemed "local", ie without interest to anyone outside the actual school, for example that the Business programme was moved to Vipeholmsskolan or that a play was performed 3 times (!). I also corrected some minor English spelling mistakes and did a general overlook of the language, capitalising some words where necessary. I also removed the italics on the different proper nouns in the last section. I added a few lines under Student Societies and pasted the text about Scenia underneath as this made more sense structurally. I also reduced the information on the side (principals and coordinates) to make it look more formal. Again, that information must be considered "local" and will not particularly interest anyone outside of the school. My goal was to improve the quality and I hope you will find my changes for the better. If anyone would like to add some references (uppland, you talk about alumni biographies?), I think that would be great and make the page better. Many thanks Tartesauxpommes (talk) 09:26, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
