An image used in this article, File:Murugan dunai.gif, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Very old accepted Publication by Sir Ponnambalam Arunachalam edit

Sir Ponnambalam Arunachalam published an article in Journal of the Ceylon Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society The Worship of Muruka or Skanda (The Kataragama God)(Vol. XXIX, No. 77) in 1924 is considered as the very old accepted publication about the history of Kataragama Temple. This sources is clearly mentioning how the name Kârttikeya Grâma (“City of Kârttikeya”) have changed to Kataragama.

Kataragama is sacred to the God Kârttikeya, from whom it was called Kârttikeya Grâma (“City of Kârttikeya”) shortened to Kajara-gama and then to Kataragama.

And also the source addressing how the name Kanda Kumâra changed to Skanda kumara.

Name of Load Kanda Kumâra (Kanda being the Tamil form of Sanskrit Skanda and Kumâra meaning youth).

Based on the Wikipedia:Five_pillars fundamental principles by which Wikipedia operates, this article needs to summarize in neutral way. So I avoid advocacy and characterize information based on the verifiable accuracy. Hence, before change the content that already have enough verifiable information, please discuss in talk page.

Sorry Shayanthan, for a newbie you seem to know about Wikipedia a lot :) But Ponnabalam Arunachalam is no historian or a an etymologist. He is a politicians that too a nationalist politicians. Can we leave this good article to accredited historians and researchers than "history makers". Thanks Kanatonian (talk) 15:30, 5 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Its OK. Thank you for you information. Shayanthan Kanaganayagham (talk) 08:19, 6 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
I added it under History section. Also read WP:LEAD, most of what is in the Lead is cited in the main article. This passed Good Article status, which mean akll the basic issues with respect to citation and verificatiosn have been done. Thanks Kanatonian (talk) 14:38, 6 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
