KSRTC operates Airavat (Volvo AC) buses. These a semi-sleeper buses with push button reclining seats.

I have one major complaint about Airavat buses, they lack sufficient leg room. Particularly when travelling in night journeys, this lack of sufficient leg room causes sleeping problems. If KSRTC removed a few seats (around 4 seats) in all existing Airavat buses and increases leg room to passengers, I will take back this complaint and suggest Airavat to inter-city bus users. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rk78 (talkcontribs) 08:34, 21 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Article needs a cleanup edit

Most of this article has been copied exactly from the KSRTC website, especially the "types of buses" and "awards" section looks more like Promotional/advertising material. --Jonathanarpith (talk) 10:14, 27 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

KSRTC edit

Karnataka SRTC may have lost the legal right to be called KSRTC but please note that KSRTC is a common name for both transport corporations. Please do not remove the abbreviation from the article citing the loss of the trademark. Let us discuss it here first. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 16:04, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Native name edit

If the native name and the romanized name is to be written in exactly the same way, with the exact same transliteration, one of the two fields may be removed to remove redundancies Nsn2635 (talk) 11:15, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Nsn2635: The "|name=" parameter should be exactly the same as the article name/WP:COMMONNAME - Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation. The "|native_name =" parameter should hold the name of the "company" in the native language per template docx, but in IPA format since WP:NOINDICSCRIPT applies in India-related articles barring the use of Indic scripts. Hence why Karnāṭaka Rājya Raste Sārige Nigama is kept. Don;t know whether it is the correct IPA format of the Kannada name of the company. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:46, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
It is the correct form of the company name in Kannada, but the |native_name and the |romanized_name are literally the same, so I suggest one of those params to be left blank, for the sake of redundancy removal. Nsn2635 (talk) 11:54, 16 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Nsn2635: Can't remove Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation from the "|name=" parameter per above. You can remove Karnāṭaka Rājya Raste Sārige Nigama though. That's how most high level Indian airport and railway station articles are. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:12, 16 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm suggesting removing one of the two IPA names, as they are the same. I'm not suggesting for the English name (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) to be removed. I'm suggesting that one of the two instances of the native romanized name (Karnāṭaka Rājya Raste Sārige Nigama) be removed. Nsn2635 (talk) 20:00, 16 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Nsn2635: Oh.. I get it. Didn't see it lol due to one being italicised . Please go ahead. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 20:45, 16 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
