Notability edit

I have tagged the article with [[Template:notability|biographies]]. Of the three references provided, only one appears to be entirely independent of the subject, and it contains only a trivial mention thereof. The other two sources really do nothing more than establish that the subject exists and is who the article says he is. There's nothing here to establish notabilility. Pinging creator Philafrenzy, who may have intended to return and add more sources. RivertorchFIREWATER 19:53, 9 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

WP:AUTHOR states that a person is notable if their work "has become a significant monument". I would have thought that eight books on bees met that criteria, quite apart from being director of the International Bee Research Association and past president of the British Bee Keepers Association. Perhaps. It's a bit esoteric, I guess, and I wouldn't expect to find a profile of him in a general-interest publication. If you can find any articles (perhaps in a beekeeping periodical) that are actually about him or that discuss his life or work in any depth, that would be helpful. I'm certainly not gunning for deletion here. RivertorchFIREWATER 20:28, 9 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
I am industrious but not a beekeeper. Philafrenzy (talk) 23:08, 9 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
No? Me neither. And, sadly, WikiProject Beekeeping never quite got off the ground. ;-) RivertorchFIREWATER 00:14, 10 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
