Karaburun Peninsula, İzmirKaraburun Peninsula

Proposing to move to a simpler title, since this peninsula is the only one of the name. In other words, there is no other Karaburun Peninsula and no risk of confusion. Cretanforever (talk) 10:17, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Urla-Karaburun-Çeşme Peninsula edit

There seems to be confusion across Wiki projects about the name of the large peninsula in İzmir Province. This page implies that Karaburun is the name for the whole peninsula, but elsewhere it is referred to as the Urla-Çeşme peninsula, for example in the page on the province. The Turkish language Wikipedia page for the whole peninsula calls it the Urla Yarımadası (https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urla_Yar%C4%B1madas%C4%B1), saying a Turkish geographical conference decided that Urla Peninsula will be the name for the whole. But even this name has problems: Urla peninsula sometimes only refers to the small peninsula in the Gulf of İzmir above that town. I propose to clear up the confusion by following Turkish language resources that refer to the whole as the Urla-Karaburun-Çeşme Peninsula, eg http://geography.humanity.ankara.edu.tr/wp-content/uploads/sites/277/2016/12/kiyiege6.pdf, and to create a new Wiki article describing it.
